We build high-precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing operations. We are seeking a mid-level Die Designer to engineer progressive, transfer, and line dies from initial strip layout through tool commissioning. You will work directly alongside toolmakers and press operators on our shop floor to solve complex sheet metal forming challenges and optimize tool performance.
Design complex progressive, transfer, and line stamping dies using 3D CAD software.
Develop strip layouts, blank developments, and force/tonnage calculations for high-precision components.
Run forming simulations and springback analyses to validate part feasibility before steel cutting.
Collaborate on-site with toolmakers during tool tryout to troubleshoot press issues and refine die geometry.
Generate complete manufacturing drawing packages, including detail drawings, BOMs, and die schedules.
3+ years of mechanical design experience focused on sheet metal stamping dies.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or VISI) and 2D drafting.
Strong command of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tool steels, heat treating, and commercial die components.
Proven understanding of metal press operations, shear capabilities, and material deformation physics.
Full-time availability to work on-site at our manufacturing facility.
Formal apprenticeship or hands-on experience as a Tool & Die Maker.
Practical experience using AutoForm or PAM-STAMP simulation tools.
Background designing tooling for advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) or deep-draw applications.
Competitive base salary reflecting technical skill and demonstrated tooling success.
Comprehensive healthcare, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one.
401(k) plan with up to 6% company match and immediate vesting.
Direct access to modern toolroom technology, including high-speed CNCs, wire EDMs, and dedicated tryout presses.
