Solutionara Private Limited is seeking a QA Lead – Quality Engineering & Automation to provide hands-on quality leadership across enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and digital solutions delivered through our Noida Global Delivery Center.
This is a hands-on QA leadership role, not a purely managerial position. The QA Lead will combine strong manual and automation testing expertise with responsibility for QA planning, test strategy, execution oversight, defect management, release validation, and technical guidance of QA team members.
The successful candidate should be comfortable personally performing testing and automation while also taking ownership of quality across assigned projects and releases.
The QA Lead will work closely with Developers, Project Managers, Technical Project Managers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, Integration Engineers, and other delivery stakeholders to ensure quality is incorporated throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities
Own QA planning and execution for assigned projects, applications, and releases.
Define test approach, scope, estimates, test coverage, test environments, entry/exit criteria, and release-quality expectations.
Lead and guide QA Engineers while remaining actively involved in hands-on testing.
Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, and application workflows.
Create and review test scenarios, test cases, test data, regression suites, and testing evidence.
Perform and oversee manual, functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
Develop, maintain, review, and improve automated tests using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or comparable frameworks.
Identify appropriate scenarios for automation and improve meaningful regression automation coverage.
Perform API testing using Postman and/or automated API-testing frameworks.
Validate REST APIs, request/response payloads, authentication, error handling, integrations, and business rules.
Perform SQL/database validation and verify data across applications, APIs, integrations, and databases.
Manage defects from identification through closure and participate in defect triage and Root Cause Analysis.
Investigate application failures using logs, API responses, database results, test evidence, and other technical information.
Support QA, UAT, staging, release, and production-validation activities.
Participate in deployment validation, smoke testing, and post-release verification.
Support integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Identify quality risks, dependencies, blockers, and defect trends early and communicate them clearly.
Mentor QA Engineers and review the quality of their testing and automation work.
Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to continuously improve QA processes and practices.
Requirements — Must Have
6+ years of software QA / Quality Engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with both manual and automation testing.
Demonstrated experience leading QA activities, projects, workstreams, or QA team members.
Strong functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing experience.
Hands-on automation experience using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts/framework components rather than only execute existing automated suites.
Programming/scripting experience using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or equivalent.
Strong hands-on API testing experience using Postman or equivalent.
Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and regression suites.
Strong defect-management and troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or equivalent.
Understanding of Git/version control and CI/CD concepts.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum or hybrid technology-delivery environments.
Ability to independently own QA execution for an assigned project or release.
Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferences — Nice to Have
IT consulting, technology services, or Global Delivery Center experience.
Experience supporting U.S. or other global clients.
Experience testing enterprise web applications, APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
AWS and/or Azure exposure.
Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
Performance-testing exposure using JMeter, k6, or comparable tools.
Docker/container exposure.
Basic application-security and OWASP knowledge.
Experience with enterprise applications, eCommerce, PIM/DAM, ERP, CRM, data platforms, or integration solutions.
Experience using AI-assisted engineering/testing tools.
Expected Outcomes
The candidate should be able to:
Independently own QA execution for assigned projects and releases.
Translate requirements into effective test strategies and comprehensive test coverage.
Maintain the right balance between manual testing and automation, rather than treating automation as a replacement for thoughtful testing.
Build and maintain reliable automated regression coverage.
Independently test APIs and validate application/database data.
Identify functional, integration, data, regression, and release risks before production.
Produce clear, reproducible defects supported by appropriate technical evidence.
Effectively lead defect triage and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Provide Project and Delivery leadership with clear visibility into QA status and release risks.
Guide and mentor QA Engineers while remaining technically hands-on.
Improve QA discipline, regression efficiency, and overall release quality.
Reduce recurring defects and production defect leakage.
