Responsibilities:
Hands-on Development and Architecture (30%+ time): Design, write, and maintain scalable Java code, driving core component design, API modelling, and rigorous code reviews for the client platform.
Legacy-to-Microservices Modernization: Work closely with the client's product and architecture teams to extract monolithic legacy components (disbursement engines, EMI schedules, interest calculators, and repayment workflows) into decoupled Spring Boot microservices.
Event-Driven Architecture: Build reliable, asynchronous messaging pipelines using Apache Kafka for real-time transaction streaming and system integration across internal and partner services.
Database and Caching Performance: Architect strict ACID-compliant schemas using MySQL / PostgreSQL to preserve data integrity across financial ledgers. Deploy Redis for distributed locking, rate-limiting, and caching.
Client Engagement and Quality: Ensure high standards of code quality, unit/integration test coverage (JUnit/Mockito), and technical documentation in alignment with client standards and regulatory mandates.
Requirements:
2 to 4 years of core backend software engineering experience using Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot(Spring Data JPA, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
Proven track record in designing, building, and deploying RESTful microservices in high-throughput environments.
Practical hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (pub/sub messaging, topic partitioning, DLQ handling).
Hands-on proficiency with Redis for distributed caching and performance optimisation.
Solid experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), including schema design, query tuning, indexing, and strict ACID transactional controls.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus Points):
Direct experience working on Loan Management Systems (LMS)within banking, fintech, or NBFC sectors.
Exposure to distributed SQL databases(e. g., CockroachDB).
Familiarity with RBI Digital Lending Guidelines or financial regulatory and audit frameworks.
Basic working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD deployment workflows.
