Site Reliability Engineer (Azure)
Key responsibilities
Reliability: own SLOs, SLIs and error budgets; keep platforms stable through SIP dates, NFO launches and volatile market days; design HA/DR with Availability Zones, Front Door and Azure Site Recovery; lead incidents and blameless postmortems.
Cost optimisation: re-architect Azure workloads using rightsizing, autoscaling (VMSS, AKS, KEDA), Reserved Instances, Savings Plan, Hybrid Benefit and storage tiering; set up tagging, budgets and showback through Azure Cost Management.
Observability and anomalies: build monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and OpenTelemetry; detect cost spikes, latency, failed transactions and unusual traffic; trace failures end to end and cut alert noise.
Security and compliance: operate within SEBI’s CSCRF and internal policies; enforce Azure Policy, RBAC, Entra ID, PIM, Key Vault and Defender for Cloud; support audits with evidence.
Automation: manage IaC with Terraform/Bicep, GitOps on AKS, CI/CD in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; automate away toil with Python, PowerShell or Bash.
Leadership: mentor 2–4 engineers; work with application, security, risk and compliance teams and partners; present cost and reliability trade-offs to technology leadership.

Cost optimisation: 20–35% lower Azure spend in 6–9 months, no impact on performance or compliance
Availability: 99.9%+ on investor-facing and transaction systems
Peak readiness: Zero major incidents on SIP dates, NFOs and volatile market days
Incident response: 30–50% lower MTTD and MTTR
Anomaly detection: Cost and performance anomalies caught in minutes; 40%+ less alert noise
DR and audit: DR drills within RTO/RPO; zero repeat audit findings
Unit economics: Cost per application or transaction improved quarter on quarter
Toil reduction: 50%+ less manual operational work
Requirements
Must have: 4–7 years in SRE/DevOps/cloud with 3+ years hands-on Azure; AKS, Helm and Kubernetes networking; Terraform/Bicep; Azure Monitor and KQL; measurable Azure cost-optimisation results; networking (VNets, private endpoints, ExpressRoute, DNS); on-call and incident leadership.
Good to have: BFSI, AMC, broking or insurance experience with SEBI/RBI/IRDAI exposure; AZ-400, AZ-305 or AZ-104; FinOps Practitioner or CKA; hybrid on-prem to Azure; AIOps.
