Senior DevOps Engineer – GCP
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build and manage our cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
This role is suited for someone who understands GCP-native concepts and semantics, can make sound infrastructure decisions, and is comfortable owning the platform end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build GCP infrastructure from scratch across development, staging, and production environments.
Set up and manage GCP fundamentals including projects, folders, IAM, VPCs, networking, service accounts, security, and organization policies.
Build and maintain GKE/Kubernetes infrastructure and supporting services.
Set up CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, and release processes.
Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and incident management.
Implement cloud security, access controls, secrets management, and best practices.
Establish backup, disaster recovery, scalability, and reliability practices.
Work with engineering teams to make applications production-ready on GCP.
Optimize infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost.
Establish standards and reusable patterns for engineering teams to provision and operate infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, deployment, and production issues.
What We're Looking For
8+ years of DevOps, with significant hands-on GCP experience.
Strong understanding of GCP-native services and architecture, not just generic cloud concepts.
Strong experience with:
GCP IAM, VPC, Cloud DNS, Load Balancing, Cloud NAT
GKE and Kubernetes
Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL and other core GCP services
Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging
Secret Manager and KMS
Artifact Registry
Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Good understanding of networking, Linux, containers, security, and distributed systems.
Ability to design infrastructure independently and make pragmatic technology decisions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a hands-on, build-from-scratch environment.
Good to Have
GCP certifications.
Experience with platform engineering and developer self-service.
Experience with observability platforms and incident management.
Experience running high-scale or production-critical systems.
Experience establishing cloud governance, security, and cost-management practices.
