Role Overview
The GCP Cloud Terraform Engineer (B2) is a hands‑on individual contributor responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining GCP infrastructure using Terraform under guidance from senior engineers and architects.
This role focuses on execution, learning best practices, and supporting production environments, with increasing independence over time.
The candidate should be ready to provide support in US business hours / Shifts
Key Responsibilities
GCP Infrastructure Implementation
Provision and manage GCP resources using Terraform
Work with core GCP services such as:
Compute Engine
VPC, Subnets, Firewall Rules
Cloud Storage
IAM (basic roles and service accounts)
Support multi‑environment setups (dev, test, prod)
Terraform & Infrastructure as Code
Develop and update Terraform configurations and modules
Use remote state backends (GCS)
Execute Terraform plan and apply safely
Follow IaC best practices defined by senior engineers
Participate in code reviews and improvements
DevOps & Automation Support
Integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines
Assist in automating infrastructure deployments
Work with Git‑based workflows (branching, PRs)
Support basic scripting tasks (Bash / Python)
Operations & Troubleshooting
Support deployment and configuration issues in GCP
Troubleshoot basic cloud infrastructure problems
Assist in incident resolution and post‑incident tasks
Monitor infrastructure using GCP tools and logs
Collaboration & Learning
Work closely with:
Senior cloud engineers
DevOps and application teams
Follow cloud and security standards
Maintain documentation and runbooks
Continuously learn GCP services and Terraform features
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must‑Have
Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform
Working knowledge of Terraform
Basic understanding of:
Cloud networking (VPC, subnets, firewall rules)
IAM concepts
Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting
Experience using Git for version control
Good problem‑solving and communication skills
Good to Have
Exposure to:
GKE or containerized workloads
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
Python scripting
Basic knowledge of cloud security best practices
Understanding of SDLC and DevOps concepts
Certifications
Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer
