We are seeking a mid-level Database Engineer to own, scale, and optimize the data infrastructure powering our mission-critical applications. Working onsite at our office, you will take direct responsibility for high-throughput MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and ScyllaDB clusters deployed on AWS. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you will eliminate performance bottlenecks, automate database operations, and design resilient, fault-tolerant architectures capable of supporting rapid growth.
Design, deploy, and manage MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and ScyllaDB environments on AWS.
Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, shard distribution, and capacity planning.
Build and maintain highly available database architectures, replication schemes, and robust disaster recovery plans.
Automate database provisioning, patching, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting.
Monitor cluster health, implement proactive alerting, and lead root cause analysis for production incidents.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and software engineering teams to align database schema designs with application requirements.
Implement strict database security controls, encryption, access policies, and compliance standards.
3+ years of experience managing production databases in an enterprise AWS environment.
Hands-on operational expertise with MongoDB (replica sets, sharding), Elasticsearch (shards, replicas, index strategies), and ScyllaDB (or Cassandra).
Proven track record of database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting under high-load conditions.
Strong automation skills using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Solid understanding of database internals, replication, consistency models, and network topology.
