You will own the mechanical architecture and detailed component design for next-generation vehicle systems from clean-sheet concept through production release. Working remotely, you will translate vehicle-level functional requirements into validated, production-ready geometry, solving complex packaging constraints while hitting aggressive mass, structural, and cost targets.
Lead 3D CAD development and detailed drafting for automotive subsystems (body, chassis, or electromechanical packaging) using CATIA V5/3DX or Siemens NX.
Apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards to generate fully constrained, inspection-ready component and assembly drawings.
Execute 1D and 3D tolerance stack-up analyses to guarantee kinematic clearance, fit, and flush requirements across thermal and dynamic operating extremes.
Collaborate with CAE teams to digest FEA, NVH, and crash simulation results, rapidly iterating geometry to optimize stiffness and energy absorption.
Partner with Tier 1 suppliers and internal manufacturing engineers to resolve DFM and DFA constraints for high-pressure die castings, stampings, and injection-molded plastics.
Drive engineering release milestones, change orders (ECOs), and BOM accuracy within Teamcenter.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
5+ years of automotive engineering design experience shipping production parts on passenger, commercial, or performance vehicle programs.
