Senior Professional - Quality Assurance Specialist
We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Jangalpur, Howrah. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control functions, with a strong focus on galvanizing, Galvalume, and color-coated steel lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality System Management: Establish and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance and "first-time-right" production.
- Operational Quality Control: Lead incoming (raw materials), in-process (pickling, cold rolling, galvanizing/coating), and final inspections.
- Coating Process Expertise: Monitor and optimize coating parameters (zinc thickness, paint curing, tension, surface finish) for Galvanized (GI), Galvalume (GL), and Colour Coated (PPGI/PPGL) lines.
- Process Improvement: Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to take Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement and reduce manufacturing defects.
- Customer & Technical Interface: Act as the voice of the customer (VOC), resolving customer complaints, and improving product performance to match application requirements (e.g., PEB, Solar, roofing, appliances, etc).
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the quality team (engineers, inspectors) to build a quality-focused culture.
Requirements
- Engineering Graduate (Metallurgy, Mechanical) with relevant experience in quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions.
- Deep understanding of steel metallurgy, hot dip galvanizing, coating technology, and NDT procedures.
- Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and ISO 9001, along with budgeting and capital planning.
- Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills.
