Role Purpose
To ensure effective sorting and classification of finished tiles as per defined quality standards, specifications, shade, calibre, surface finish and customer requirements, while minimizing sorting errors and rejection.
Key Responsibilities
Tile Sorting & Quality Inspection
Inspect finished tiles for shade, calibre, size, surface defects, printing defects, cracks, warpage and other visual abnormalities.
Sort tiles according to defined quality grades and customer specifications.
Ensure correct identification and segregation of first quality, second quality and rejected material.
Monitor shade and calibre consistency during sorting.
Identify recurring defects and communicate them to the concerned production/quality team.
Production Coordination
Coordinate with Production, Quality Control and Packing teams for smooth movement of sorted material.
Ensure correct lot/batch identification and segregation.
Maintain proper traceability of shade, calibre and production batches.
Support production teams in reducing sorting-related rejection and quality complaints.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily records of sorting quantities, rejection, quality grades and defects.
Prepare shift-wise sorting reports.
Report major quality issues and abnormal defects to the supervisor/manager.
Ensure compliance with plant quality and safety procedures.
Role Specifications
Industry: Ceramic Tiles / Vitrified Tiles / Wall Tiles / Porcelain Tiles
Experience: 2–6 years in tile sorting/quality inspection
Education: Diploma in Ceramics
Work Location: Plant Manufacturing Unit
Shift: Rotational / Shift-based
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience in tile sorting and finished goods inspection.
Good understanding of tile defects, shade and calibre.
Ability to identify visual and dimensional defects accurately.
Experience working in a ceramic/tile manufacturing plant preferred.
Good observation and attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a production/plant environment.
