Role Purpose
To lead and monitor quality control activities across the ceramic tile manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to defined quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. The role will be responsible for process inspection, product quality monitoring, defect analysis, corrective actions, and coordination with Production and other departments to maintain consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control quality parameters across the ceramic tile manufacturing process, from raw material/body preparation to finished products.
Conduct and supervise inspection and testing of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished tiles as per defined quality standards.
Monitor critical process parameters and ensure compliance with established quality specifications and SOPs.
Identify, analyze, and investigate quality defects, process deviations, and customer-related complaints.
Coordinate with Production, BMPD, Maintenance, R&D, and other departments for root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure proper implementation of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing methods.
Monitor key tile quality parameters such as dimensions, water absorption, strength, surface quality, shade, flatness, calibre, visual defects, and other applicable parameters.
Ensure proper online and offline inspection of tiles and maintain consistency in product quality.
Monitor and control shade and calibre management to minimize rejection and customer complaints.
Analyze quality data and identify trends, recurring defects, and areas for process improvement.
Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, test reports, rejection reports, and daily/weekly/monthly quality MIS.
Ensure proper segregation and disposition of rejected, downgraded, and non-conforming products.
Support implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, and wastage.
Ensure calibration and proper functioning of quality testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
Ensure adherence to 5S, safety standards, housekeeping, and departmental procedures.
Guide, train, and monitor quality inspectors and laboratory personnel for effective execution of quality activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable Indian Standards (IS), ISO requirements, internal quality standards, and customer specifications.
Participate in internal/external audits and support timely closure of quality-related observations.
