Role Purpose
To oversee and control the Body Preparation & Material Processing Department (BMPD), ensuring smooth operation of ball mills, slip preparation, spray dryer, FBC, and body dust processes while maintaining defined quality, production, safety, and process standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise Ball Mill loading and unloading activities as per production plans and process requirements.
Monitor and maintain slip quality parameters for both FTP and DFF plants as per defined specifications.
Ensure smooth and efficient operation of Spray Dryer and FBC (Fluidized Bed Cooler).
Monitor Body Dust quality parameters and ensure compliance with established process standards.
Monitor process parameters and take timely corrective actions to maintain consistent quality and process stability.
Ensure accurate and timely raw material consumption recording and booking in SAP.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other relevant departments to achieve daily production and quality targets.
Identify operational abnormalities, troubleshoot process-related issues, and ensure minimum process downtime.
Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production, process, and quality reports.
Ensure proper utilization of raw materials and minimize process losses and wastage.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, process parameters, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards within the BMPD area.
Guide and monitor operators and technicians to ensure efficient execution of departmental activities.
Support continuous improvement, process optimization, productivity enhancement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety norms, quality systems, and environmental requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma in Ceramic Engineering or B.Sc. (Chemistry) is mandatory.
Relevant experience in Body Preparation, Ball Mill, Slip Preparation, Spray Dryer, FBC, or Raw Material Processing in a ceramic tile manufacturing plant.
Strong knowledge of slip preparation, body composition, raw material processing, and body dust quality parameters.
Practical understanding of Ball Mill, Spray Dryer, and FBC operations.
Familiarity with SAP data entry, raw material consumption, and material booking.
Ability to monitor process parameters, identify deviations, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Good understanding of quality control and process discipline in ceramic tile manufacturing.
Good communication, coordination, reporting, and team-management skills.
Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
