Assistant Manager – Warehouse
Location: Morbi, Gujarat
2. Role Purpose
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end warehouse operations, including material receipt, storage, inventory control, material movement, dispatch coordination, documentation, and warehouse team management.
The role will ensure optimum inventory accuracy, proper storage practices, timely material availability, efficient warehouse utilization, and compliance with company processes, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Warehouse Operations
Manage day-to-day warehouse operations for raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and other inventory, as applicable.
Ensure timely receipt, inspection, identification, storage, and issue of materials.
Maintain proper FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
Ensure systematic binning, material identification, labeling, and location management.
Monitor loading, unloading, stacking, and internal movement of materials.
Ensure optimum utilization of warehouse space.
B. Inventory Management & Control
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through systematic stock control.
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock verification.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages, excesses, and damages.
Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, obsolete, and damaged inventory.
Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure material availability and inventory optimization.
Ensure proper documentation for all material movements.
C. Dispatch & Logistics Coordination
Coordinate with the dispatch/logistics team for timely movement of finished goods and materials.
Ensure correct quantity, product, batch, and documentation before dispatch.
Monitor loading activities and ensure adherence to dispatch plans.
Coordinate with transporters and internal stakeholders to resolve dispatch-related issues.
Ensure minimum dispatch delays and accurate documentation.
F. Process Improvement & Cost Control
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, space utilization, inventory accuracy, and material handling.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures and process controls.
Reduce material damage, handling losses, stock discrepancies, and operational wastage.
Drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
G. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures and company EHS standards.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe material-handling practices.
Monitor housekeeping, stacking height, fire safety, and emergency preparedness.
Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and warehouse SOPs.

5. Candidate Profile
Education:
Graduate in any discipline; preferably B.Com / BBA / B.E. / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
Certification in Warehouse Management / Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
Experience:
5–8 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in ceramics, building materials, FMCG, automotive, engineering, or other process/manufacturing industries would be preferred.
Experience managing warehouse manpower and inventory operations is essential.
