Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-reliant Senior Storage & Backup Administrator to take complete, end-to-end ownership of our enterprise storage and data protection infrastructure. Working independently, you will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a hybrid environment spanning Dell EMC PowerMax, NetApp Storage, Brocade SAN switches, and EMC NetWorker.
As the sole subject-matter expert for this environment, you will bring deep troubleshooting expertise across both disk- and tape-based ecosystems, own day-to-day administration, and coordinate directly with vendor support teams to resolve complex hardware and software issues. This role calls for a proactive professional who can manage critical operations independently, with no technical oversight or backup support.
Key Responsibilities
Storage Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, tune performance for, and manage capacity on Dell EMC PowerMax and NetApp Storage arrays (ONTAP / Cluster Mode).
Backup & Recovery Operations: Own the EMC NetWorker environment end-to-end — designing, executing, and monitoring backup policies and schedules, and performing complex data restorations and cloning.
SAN Fabric Administration: Configure and maintain Brocade SAN switches, including fabric routing, alias creation, Fibre Channel zoning, and switch-level troubleshooting.
Tape Library Operations: Manage physical and/or virtual tape libraries, including media management, rotation and archiving policies, and tape drive hardware troubleshooting.
Independent Troubleshooting: Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point, diagnosing and remediating deep technical faults across infrastructure, host connectivity, and backup streams.
Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary technical point of contact for logging tickets, escalating faults, and coordinating on-site parts replacement with hardware/software vendors (e.g., Dell, NetApp, Brocade).
