GCP Architect
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced GCP Architect to design, build, and manage our cloud architecture on the Google Cloud Platform. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, development, and operations teams to deliver cloud solutions that are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. You will assess our existing infrastructure, identify opportunities for improvement, and champion best practices across our cloud environment.
What You'll Do
Design and build scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using GCP.
Partner with development teams to design and build cloud-native applications.
Evaluate and implement cloud services and technologies that meet business requirements.
Ensure cloud solutions meet security and compliance standards.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on GCP best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud infrastructure and services.
Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Technical Skills
Strong professional focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including hands-on experience with core services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Logging & Monitoring.
Advanced knowledge of GCP networking components (e.g., Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Load Balancing), security features (e.g., IAM, Security Command Center), and identity management tools.
In-depth understanding of cloud architecture fundamentals and best practices, including designing infrastructure for 24/7 environments.
Solid understanding of networking such as TCP/IP and HTTP/S, along with security design principles including segmentation, encryption, and logging.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and automating the provisioning and management of GCP resources.
Nice to Have
GCP certification, such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience & Qualifications
10+ years in software and infrastructure engineering and at least 3 years of proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a related role.
