1. VMware Cloud Foundation, Private Cloud, Compute and Storage

• Manage and maintain the complete VMware Cloud Foundation 9 environment.

• Administer VMware Cloud Foundation components, including:

  • SDDC Manager

  • VMware vSphere and ESXi

  • VMware vCenter Server

  • VMware NSX

  • VMware vSAN

  • VMware Cloud Director

  • VMware Aria Operations

  • VMware Aria Automation

  • VMware Aria Orchestrator

  • VMware Site Recovery Manager

  • VMware HCX

• Manage VCF management domains and workload domains.

• Deploy, expand, upgrade, patch, and decommission VCF workload domains.

• Perform VCF lifecycle management using SDDC Manager.

• Manage VCF cluster expansion, host commissioning, and host decommissioning.

• Perform VCF compatibility and readiness validation before upgrades and infrastructure changes.

• Manage certificates, passwords, licenses, inventory, and platform lifecycle activities.

• Monitor VCF platform health, capacity, performance, and availability.

• Troubleshoot issues across VCF compute, storage, networking, and management components.

• Implement VMware Cloud Foundation security hardening and operational best practices.

• Support VCF technology refresh, migration, consolidation, and modernization projects.

• Support VCF multi-site, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements.

• Manage VMware Cloud Director environments and tenant services.

• Administer VMware clusters, high availability, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and resource allocation.

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot VMware infrastructure.

• Manage Dell PowerEdge server infrastructure.

• Coordinate server firmware, BIOS, driver, and hardware lifecycle upgrades.

• Administer enterprise storage platforms, including:

  • VMware vSAN

  • Dell PowerStore

  • Dell PowerScale

  • Pure Storage

• Configure and manage storage volumes, LUNs, datastores, file systems, storage policies, and host connectivity.

• Monitor storage performance, capacity, availability, and utilization.

• Support Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and VMware storage connectivity.

• Perform capacity planning and infrastructure performance optimization.

• Support infrastructure migrations, data center expansion, and technology refresh projects.

• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures.

• Ensure infrastructure availability, security, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.

• Participate in planned maintenance and after-hours support activities.

2. Disaster Recovery and Workload Mobility

VMware Site Recovery Manager

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain VMware Site Recovery Manager.

• Integrate Site Recovery Manager with vCenter Server and supported storage replication platforms.

• Plan and implement disaster recovery protection for critical virtual machines and applications.

• Perform planned migration, disaster recovery failover, failback, reprotection, and recovery testing.

• Conduct regular non-disruptive disaster recovery tests.

• Troubleshoot recovery-plan failures, replication issues, inventory mapping issues, and site-pairing problems.

• Coordinate disaster recovery exercises with application, network, storage, security, and business teams.

• Maintain disaster recovery runbooks, recovery procedures, test reports, and recovery evidence.

• Validate Recovery Time Objective and Recovery Point Objective requirements.

• Support storage-based replication and VMware replication where applicable.

• Automate disaster recovery validation and recovery workflows where technically supported.

VMware HCX

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain VMware HCX.

• Configure HCX components, including:

  • HCX Manager

  • HCX Connector

  • HCX Cloud Manager

  • HCX Interconnect

  • HCX Network Extension

  • HCX WAN Optimization

  • HCX Mobility Optimized Networking

• Establish and maintain HCX site pairing between source and destination environments.

• Plan and execute workload migrations using:

  • HCX Bulk Migration

  • HCX vMotion

  • HCX Replication-Assisted vMotion

  • HCX Cold Migration

• Perform application mobility-group planning and wave-based migration execution.

• Configure and manage Layer 2 network extension between data centers and cloud environments.

• Validate bandwidth, latency, MTU, routing, firewall, and connectivity requirements for HCX.

• Support workload migration between:

  • VMware data centers

  • VCF environments

  • VMware Cloud Director environments

  • Azure VMware Solution

  • Other supported VMware cloud platforms

• Perform pre-migration readiness assessments and post-migration validation.

• Troubleshoot HCX service mesh, appliance, tunnel, migration, and network extension issues.

• Coordinate workload migration activities with application owners and infrastructure teams.

• Develop migration plans, rollback procedures, migration schedules, and technical documentation.

3. Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as Code

• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Develop reusable Terraform modules for VMware, storage, compute, networking, disaster recovery, and cloud infrastructure.

• Use Ansible for infrastructure configuration management and operational automation.

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, templates, and automation workflows.

• Automate VMware Cloud Foundation deployment and operational activities where supported.

• Automate VMware Cloud Director tenant provisioning and service configuration.

• Automate Site Recovery Manager validation, testing, and reporting activities where supported.

• Automate HCX deployment validation, migration preparation, and operational health checks where supported.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, validation, and lifecycle management.

• Automate tasks including:

  • ESXi host configuration

  • VCF host commissioning and validation

  • Virtual machine provisioning

  • Tenant provisioning

  • Organization Virtual Data Center creation

  • Network and storage configuration

  • Storage volume and datastore provisioning

  • Disaster recovery health checks

• Perform backup monitoring, failure troubleshooting, restore validation, and recovery testing.

• Provide basic administration and troubleshooting for:

  • Microsoft Windows Server

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Other Linux operating systems

• Support basic networking activities.
