The Role
We are looking for a motivated Market News Analyst to join the IBS Intelligence. You will track and report on the global FinTech and banking ecosystem — researching, writing and publishing daily news, building industry relationships, and contributing to our flagship monthly journal.
This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom role with real bylines and real ownership. If you are curious about financial technology and want hands-on journalism experience, this role puts you at the center of the story.
Key Responsibilities
Daily news and reporting
▪ Track company news, industry trends and market developments across the global FinTech and banking ecosystem, daily
▪ Research, write and publish daily news articles for the IBS Intelligence website, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and editorial quality
▪ Research and identify credible sources for breaking FinTech, BankTech, payments, wealth management, lending and regulatory news
▪ Ensure all published content adheres to IBS Intelligence's editorial standards, style guidelines and publication deadlines
Sourcing and relationships
▪ Build and maintain relationships with FinTechs, banks, technology providers and PR agencies to source exclusive news, interviews and editorial opportunities
▪ Liaise daily with PR agencies and corporate communications teams to secure news announcements, thought leadership articles, interviews, podcasts, case studies and other editorial resources
Features, journal and thought leadership
▪ Contribute editorial content, features, interviews and analysis for the monthly IBS Intelligence FinTech Journal
▪ Support the development of thought leadership content, executive interviews, podcasts and special reports aligned with the editorial calendar.
Trend monitoring
▪ Monitor emerging trends in FinTech, AI, digital banking, payments, RegTech, WealthTech and financial services to identify new story opportunities
Data trackers and databases
▪ Develop and maintain editorial data trackers, including funding rounds, mergers and acquisitions, product launches, partnerships, regulatory developments and industry trends
▪ Maintain and update editorial databases, company profiles and industry trackers to support ongoing newsroom activities
Coordination
▪ Coordinate with internal editorial and design teams to support content planning, publication schedules and special editorial projects
Who We’re Looking For
Essential
▪ Graduate or post-graduate in journalism, mass communication, finance, economics, business or a related field.
▪ Strong written English and a clear, accurate news-writing style
▪ Genuine interest in FinTech, banking and financial technology
▪ Ability to work to daily deadlines and manage multiple stories at once
▪ Attention to detail and a commitment to factual accuracy
▪ Working proficiency in MS Office
Preferred
▪ Prior writing, reporting or content experience (student publications, blogs, internships)
▪ Familiarity with FinTech, payments or banking topics
▪ Comfort building sources and reaching out to PR and communications contacts
