The Senior SR. Manager-Secondary Logistics & Supply Chain (SCM)– Sales & Distribution is responsible for driving cost-efficient freight and distribution operations for the Guwahati region. The role focuses on optimizing freight cost per MT, growing channel/dealer share of wallet, planning and executing rail-based (IRPL) dispatch, and ensuring timely order execution, in order to support profitable, reliable, and scalable cement distribution.
Plan, monitor and control freight cost per MT against budgeted targets; negotiate rates with transporters and identify route/mode-mix optimization opportunities.
Build and expand relationships with dealers and channel partners to grow Amrit Cement's Share of Wallet (SOW) in each market.
Plan and coordinate IRPL (rail-based) rakes/wagons to achieve targeted round trips and optimize the road-rail dispatch mix.
Monitor Order Execution Time (OET) and coordinate with plant dispatch, logistics and sales teams to ensure at least 90% of orders are executed within 24 hours.
Act as the key coordination point between Sales, Logistics, Plant Dispatch and transporters/C&F agents to resolve bottlenecks.
Track competitor freight and distribution practices in the region and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate MIS and periodic reports on freight cost, SOW, IRPL round trips, and OET for management review.
Support annual freight and distribution budgeting, and drive cost-saving initiatives through the year.
Ensure compliance with statutory and logistics requirements applicable to dispatch and transportation.
