ob Purpose
To perform chemical and physical testing of raw materials, clinker, coal, and cement, ensuring compliance with quality standards and supporting smooth plant operations. The role involves laboratory testing, sample preparation, documentation, and coordination with production teams for quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Testing
Conduct chemical analysis of limestone, laterite, iron ore, clinker, gypsum, fly ash, slag, coal, and cement samples.
Perform physical testing of cement such as fineness, setting time, consistency, and compressive strength.
Carry out routine testing as per BIS/IS standards and company quality procedures.
Monitor and report quality parameters such as LSF, SM, AM, LOI, and Free Lime.
Laboratory Operations
Collect, prepare, crush, grind, and homogenize samples for laboratory analysis.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as XRF, XRD, muffle furnace, balances, and other testing instruments.
Assist in calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
Documentation & Reporting
Record test results accurately in laboratory registers and software systems.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
Maintain laboratory records, test certificates, and quality documentation as per company requirements.
Process Support
Coordinate with Production and Process departments to maintain desired product quality.
Identify quality deviations and report abnormalities to seniors.
Support troubleshooting and corrective actions related to raw mix, clinker, and cement quality.
Safety & Compliance
Follow laboratory safety procedures and use PPE at all times.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in the laboratory.
Ensure compliance with ISO, BIS, and company quality standards.
Required Skills
Knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory practices.
Basic understanding of XRF/XRD operations.
Knowledge of cement manufacturing process and quality parameters.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and report preparation.
Ability to work in shifts.
