Purpose
Confirms with each application owner what the rebuilt application must do, and drives the rationalisation that keeps scope honest.
Key responsibilities
Run design workshops with the nominated business owner for each application.
Confirm functional scope against the completed technical assessment and record what is in and out.
Drive view, report and reference data rationalisation. Notes estates carry a large proportion of obsolete design, and this is where scope is contained.
Specify approval routing, notification and scheduled processing in business terms.
Confirm record-level access as a rule — who should see what — rather than as the field contents that implement it today.
Produce the functional design for each application and secure sign-off.
Write UAT scripts and support the business through acceptance within its scheduled window.
Essential experience
6+ years business analysis on application development or migration.
Requirements elicitation with non-technical business owners.
Process and data mapping; specifications that developers build from without rework.
UAT planning and hands-on support.
Desirable
Power Platform functional design.
