ABOUT TENACIO (THE COMPANY)

Tenacio is a B2B SaaS API platform helping businesses integrate digital verification and financial data services. We crossed ₹10 Cr of revenue in our first year of operations and are growing strong. We have offices in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam and operate remotely.

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Tech Lead — full-stack with a strong backend bias — with real depth across DevOps, Information Security and database administration, setting the bar on architecture and code while still shipping yourself.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Platform & APIs — Node.js/TypeScript services powering a high-throughput, multi-tenant public API estate. API contracts, versioning, idempotency, webhooks and backward compatibility for enterprise clients in production. Gateway-level controls: per-API and per-client rate limits, quotas, IP whitelisting and abuse prevention.
Data & third-party integrations — Verification and financial data provider integrations with retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, vendor failover and reconciliation of per-call vendor cost against usage. MongoDB and PostgreSQL schema and index design, query tuning, backup/restore and recovery testing. Retention, masking and least-privilege access to KYC and financial PII.
Infrastructure & reliability — AWS estate: containerised workloads, load balancing, auto-scaling, private subnetting and a large serverless function fleet managed as infrastructure-as-code. CI/CD on GitHub Actions with environment promotion, rollback paths and commit-level traceability. Observability via Grafana/Loki/Alloy, alerting, log retention and logging-spend control. Incident response and RCA against client uptime commitments, and ongoing cloud cost optimisation.
Security & compliance — IAM and least-privilege design, secrets and key rotation, SSO-based access to systems and databases, CloudTrail/GuardDuty, security group hygiene and closing direct internet exposure. ISO 27001 readiness, audit and GRC evidence, and our obligations as a data processor under the DPDP Act, 2023.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must have — Strong Node.js/TypeScript, REST API and system design experience at production scale · AWS/cloud infrastructure and CI/CD, with the judgement to run it securely and cost-effectively · Working competence in both PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including performance tuning and backup/restore · Practical application security: authentication, authorisation, secrets handling, common vulnerability classes.
Good to have — VAPT, ISO 27001 or similar audits and certifications — having driven one end to end, or remediated the findings · Hands-on expertise in DevOps and AWS/Cloudflare management · building CI/CD automation pipelines, setting up testing frameworks and managing runbooks against observability alerts · Fintech, KYC/identity verification or other regulated data domains · Frontend competence (React or similar) to unblock and review client-facing surfaces.

Finds opportunities to automate work, improve systems and reduce tech debt, and proposes those initiatives rather than waiting to be asked.
Leverages AI in software development and day-to-day functioning rigorously, and is comfortable being the escalation point during a production incident.
