The Sr. Accountant is responsible for executing the day-to-day accounting and statutory compliance operations of Sipra Labs Limited. The role ensures accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial records aligned with the Companies Act, Ind AS, GST, TDS, and Income Tax provisions, while operating within Focus X ERP. The position is critical to the organization's commitment to data integrity, internal control, US FDA / NABL audit readiness for the corporate function, and operational efficiency targets set by the Head of Operations.
SECTION 3: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Independently manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, vouching, and ledger scrutiny in Focus X ERP.
• Process accounts payable: vendor invoice booking, GRN matching, payment scheduling, and vendor reconciliation.
• Manage accounts receivable: customer invoicing, debtor follow-up, ageing reports, and revenue recognition aligned with Ind AS 115.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation statements (BRS) for all bank accounts with NIL open items at month-end.
• Compute, deduct, and remit statutory liabilities — TDS (under IT Act), GST (CGST/SGST/IGST), Professional Tax, ESI, and PF — with on-time return filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS quarterly returns).
• Process payroll accounting entries, salary payments, full-and-final settlements, and reimbursements in coordination with HR (Keka).
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register, depreciation workings as per Schedule II of Companies Act / Ind AS 16, and CWIP capitalization.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing activities including provisioning, prepaid amortization, accruals, and inter-company eliminations within published close calendar.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports — P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, division-wise (Analytical, Food, Pre-Clinical) revenue and expense statements for Head of Operations review.
• Support statutory audit, tax audit, GST audit, and internal audit by preparing schedules, providing supporting documents, and resolving auditor observations.
• Coordinate with CA / consultants for ROC filings, Income Tax assessments, and FEMA-related transactions (if any).
• Maintain audit-ready documentation aligned with the Maker-Checker matrix; ensure data integrity (ALCOA++) on all financial records.
• Adhere to all company SOPs (QAD-028 alignment), accounts manual, and internal control procedures.
SECTION 4: KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
• Month-end close completed within 5 working days (≥95% adherence)
• Statutory return filings (GST, TDS, PT) — Zero late filings, zero penalty interest
• Bank Reconciliation — Zero open items > 30 days at month-end
• Vendor reconciliation — 100% completion before payment release
• Audit observations — Zero repeat observations; closure of all CAPAs within timeline
• MIS accuracy — Zero restatements; reports submitted by 7th of following month
SECTION 5: REQUIRED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
• Hands-on expertise in Focus X ERP (or comparable Tally Prime, SAP B1) — GL, AP, AR, Inventory modules
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax Act, Companies Act 2013, and Ind AS framework
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliation, Inter-company Reconciliation, and GL scrutiny
• Advanced MS Excel — Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formulas, dashboards
• Documentation skills aligned with ALCOA++ principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate)
• Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 principles for electronic financial records (CRO context)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
• Communication, stakeholder management, and ability to work under statutory deadlines
