Opus Wealth is building the modern financial cockpit for experienced individual investors. As our Founding Engineer, you will work directly with the founders to architect, build, and scale a secure platform that turns complex financial data into clear, actionable portfolio insights. This is a high-leverage, remote-first role where you will own the product lifecycle from schema design to UI execution, directly shaping both our codebase and engineering culture.
What you will do
Design, build, and maintain secure, web-based financial tools using Next.js, React, and Python.
Architect robust Postgres schemas and build data pipelines to ingest, clean, and process real-world financial data.
Create interactive data visualizations, performance charts, and high-quality PDF rendering systems.
Implement secure authentication, data privacy protocols, and integrate ML/AI-driven analysis features.
Take end-to-end ownership of features, writing clean, self-documenting code and managing your own deployments.
What you bring
2+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1+ years of dedicated data engineering work.
Production-grade Python skills and expertise in Next.js (React) frontend development.
Strong design sense and the ability to translate Figma or Framer prototypes into polished, responsive interfaces.
Solid understanding of database architecture, SQL optimization, and web security best practices.
Proficiency with modern workflows using GitHub, Visual Studio Code, Slack, and Notion.
Nice-to-haves
Previous experience building fintech, investment, or highly data-sensitive applications.
Hands-on experience deploying and scaling ML/AI models in production.
