We started with one obsessive question: can hiring be made deterministic? We've been building toward that answer since 2023, and we need a senior engineer who's ready to own that answer entirely.
The Job
You'll sit with recruiters on Monday, figure out what's broken, and ship something into their hands by Thursday. No Jira tickets, no design specs — just a hard problem and full ownership, end to end.
You'll lead the product from architecture to deployment to iteration. That means owning the recruiting workflows, the agent systems powering them, and the infrastructure underneath — and making the calls when trade-offs get uncomfortable. When something's broken in production, that's yours. When something ships beautifully, that's yours too.
You're our person if…
5+ years of engineering experience with strong foundations — systems thinking, clean abstractions, and the instinct to reach for the right tool, not just the newest one
Shipped and owned full-stack applications in production, end to end — not just features, but the whole thing
Comfortable with AI and agent systems, and eager to go deeper — you don't need to have done it all, but you need to learn fast and build honestly
Can sit with recruiters, understand their actual problems, and translate that into something real — they're your closest collaborators
Takes ownership seriously: you follow things through, you don't wait to be asked, and you care about outcomes over output
The determinism question makes you want to find out, not roll your eyes
Why this?
This isn't a features team with a roadmap handed down from above. You'll lead a product that's genuinely hard, with the autonomy to shape how it's built and the accountability to make it work.
If that sounds like the right kind of challenge, let's talk.
InCommon is an equal opportunity employer. We're building a diverse team because it makes us better at the problem we're trying to solve.
