The Head, Global Capability Center (GCC) is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing, scaling, and driving the purpose-led operations of Eisai's GCC in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), India. This leader serves as the critical bridge between India-based talent and Eisai's global entities across Japan, EMEA, Americas, and APAC — ensuring the GCC functions not merely as a delivery hub, but as a globally integrated center of excellence.
This individual will define the GCC's vision and roadmap, build high-performing cross-functional teams, and champion India's role in enabling Eisai's global IT and digital transformation agenda. The role carries executive-level accountability for talent, governance, culture, operational performance, and strategic alignment with Eisai's worldwide mission of Human Health Care (hhc).
Define the GCC's multi-year vision, organizational blueprint, and capability roadmap, positioning it as an engine of innovation and service delivery for Eisai globally.
Develop the center from the ground up — including infrastructure, processes, governance frameworks, and culture — aligned with Eisai's global IT strategy.
Drive the GCC's evolution from a support function into a recognized center of excellence for IT infrastructure, digital workplace, identity services, and automation.
Serve as the primary liaison and cultural ambassador between EIL (India) and Eisai's headquarters in Tokyo, as well as entities in EMEA, Americas, and APAC.
Facilitate seamless integration of GCC teams with global IT leadership, ensuring the India center is fully embedded in global planning, delivery, and governance cycles.
Drive consistent, real-time knowledge sharing and collaboration across time zones, breaking down silos and fostering one Eisai mindset across geographies.
Represent the GCC in global leadership forums, steering committees, and executive reviews, championing India's contributions at the highest levels of the organization.
Lead end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, and development for the Vizag GCC — attracting top-tier technology professionals in the India market.
Build a high-performance culture grounded in Eisai's core values: Collaboration, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity, Passion, and the Human Health Care (hhc) mission.
Establish structured career pathways, mentoring programs, and certification tracks to ensure retention and growth of India-based professionals.

Oversee day-to-day GCC operations, ensuring delivery quality, SLA compliance, and continuous process improvement across all functions.
Establish and enforce governance models for IT operations, identity and access management, change management, and incident response within the GCC.
Ensure adherence to global compliance standards including JSOX, GxP, and Eisai's enterprise security and data privacy policies.
Manage GCC operational budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning with financial discipline and transparency.
Position the GCC as a hub for piloting and scaling emerging Microsoft technologies including Copilot, Purview, Power Platform, and advanced identity solutions.
Partner with global IT leadership to co-create and localize digital transformation programs, ensuring GCC teams play a meaningful role in shaping Eisai's future technology landscape.

Define and execute the GCC's annual and multi-year strategic roadmap, in full alignment with Eisai's global IT leadership.
Set the cultural tone for the center — modeling Eisai's hhc mission and fostering an environment of belonging, accountability, and global citizenship.
Establish operational baselines, maturity models, and continuous improvement cycles across all GCC functions.
Act as the face of EIL GCC to global IT leadership (Tokyo HQ, EMEA, Americas, APAC), proactively building trust and strategic relationships.
Participate in global technology councils, planning forums, and leadership reviews — ensuring GCC's perspective is reflected in global decisions.
Coordinate across time zones to ensure the India team's delivery cadence is seamlessly integrated with international counterparts.
Partner with HR to attract, hire, and retain top technology talent for all GCC functions.
Design and oversee structured onboarding, mentoring, and career development programs.
Establish a certification and upskilling program aligned with Microsoft and other relevant technology platforms.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and manage performance concerns in collaboration with local HR.
Oversee GCC operational budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline and transparent reporting to global leadership.
Establish and enforce ITSM processes, change management procedures, and incident escalation protocols.
Ensure full compliance with JSOX, GxP, and Eisai's global data privacy and security standards.
Define and track GCC KPIs; deliver regular performance and progress reports to the Global Head of Infrastructure.
Drive structured collaboration between GCC and global teams through regular forums, shared OKRs, and joint project ownership.
Serve as the escalation point and decision-maker for issues that bridge the India center with global operations.
Facilitate periodic visits to Eisai global offices (Tokyo, EMEA, Americas) to strengthen relationships and ensure strategic alignment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 20+ years of progressive IT or technology leadership experience, with at least 10 years in a global role.
Demonstrated experience establishing or scaling a GCC, shared services center, or offshore delivery center.
Proven success managing large, distributed, cross-cultural teams across multiple geographies.
Strong background in IT infrastructure, digital workplace technologies, and/or enterprise platform operations.
Experience managing significant operational budgets (~$10M–$15M) and vendor/MSP relationships.
Visionary leader who can inspire teams and build a purpose-driven culture aligned with Eisai's hhc mission.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills — ability to influence and engage at C-suite and executive levels globally.
Strong program management and organizational change management capabilities.

Maintain sufficient working knowledge across Cloud Infrastructure, FinOps, Security Engineering, Network Engineering, Data & Analytics, ITSM, and EUC/M365 to:
Evaluate and validate domain leads' strategic and operational recommendations.
Ask informed questions and challenge assumptions across each technical area.
Represent domain priorities credibly to global IT leadership.
Facilitate productive dialogue between India domain leads and their global counterparts.
Drive hiring decisions that reflect genuine domain expertise — partnering with global SMEs to assess technical depth of candidates.
Manage GCC budget allocation across all departments (~$15M+), ensuring financial discipline, forecast accuracy, and value delivery.
Establish and own a unified risk register for GCC operations — escalating material risks to global leadership proactively.
Ensure all GCC teams operate within Eisai's global compliance, security, and audit frameworks without exception.
Based in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), India — at Eisai India Limited (EIL).
Valid passport required; must be willing and available to travel internationally to Tokyo HQ, EMEA, Americas, and APAC on a regular basis.
